I needed someone to document the distorted reality that emerged with the arrival of AI. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t mean distorted in a bad way. I mean changed so much that it has become almost unrecognizable.
This is a difficult task. And ideally, I needed someone who has experience adapting to a new environment. Successful experience. Because our world has only just begun to change, and it’s still too early to draw conclusions about what will survive and what won’t.
But we can make bets. And for that, experience of having been through something similar would help. I’d already started drawing parallels with Wonderland, because that’s exactly how I felt when AI became so widespread.
I felt lost, but at the same time curious, like a child falling down a rabbit hole, seeing things she had never seen before. Things she couldn’t even have imagined.
Alice.
She was the one who came to mind.
After all, she had already visited Wonderland and the Looking-Glass world. She had run side by side with the Red Queen and listened to the White Queen’s mysterious memories of the future. She had tea with the Mad Hatter.
And somehow, she had found her way through it all.

Just like all of us who have anything to do with AI today.
Some time has passed, and we’re beginning to get used to this new world. But that doesn’t change the fact that it needs to be explored and documented. Much like biologists do when they try to understand why some species survive and others don’t.
Alice observed, asked naive questions, and paid attention to details.
And for my purpose - to explore and discover what helps us adapt, truly adapt rather than optimize for a changing environment - I needed Alice. She managed, step by step, to figure out the rules of Wonderland.
So I believe she can help us figure out the rules of this new world, too. I’ve invited her to join the AI Adaptation Lab.
And her first assignment is already waiting.
To investigate how users and product development teams feel after the AI adoption tsunami.
What has changed for them? How are they experiencing this new reality? What have they gained, and what do they miss about the world they knew before?
I want Alice to listen, observe, and document what she finds.
Because before we can understand how to adapt, we need to understand what has actually changed.
Please welcome Alice to the team.
