Over the last few years, I noticed the language around product work changing.
For years, the conversations I had with product teams were mostly about growth and scale.
Then, increasingly, they became about AI and adoption.
That shift eventually led me to a different question:
What happens when AI is no longer simply a new technology products can adopt - but something users already expect products to understand, support, and let them delegate work to?
That question became the starting point for the AI Adaptation Framework.
And eventually, for the AI Adaptation Lab.
In this first episode of Building the Lab, I talk about where that idea came from, what I started seeing through real product work, and why I believe adaptation - rather than adoption alone - is becoming the more important problem.
The Lab is where we observe adaptation in the wild.
We watch what changes, test what might work, and over time see which practices actually survive and help products grow.
Welcome to the Lab.
